A little update for everyone.
We have successfully wrapped up radiation treatment as of Tuesday. It came with happiness for all of us. Isaac's mostly stemmed from his new Incredibles toys.
At our chemo treatment we learned that Isaac's white blood cell count was down around 210. Normal is 1500-8,000 or something like that. We were told that it was going to tank after last week's drugs, but that hit us like a bag of bricks. It's real. We also became more and more aware that blood transfusions are going to happen. And that an NG (nasogastric) tube for keeping him fed was a better than 50% chance of happening. With the way he's eating right now (aka he's not) I'm feeling more and more ok with that.
We're slowly wrapping our minds around the fact that this kid is going to look like the stereotypical cancer patient. It's sad and hard to see your kid go through this stuff.
But we are loving the fun that we're getting. Tonight we chased each other all over the house taking a balloon from each other. It was soooo funny. Leah and Isaac were giggling so good and James was up in his tower (OH MY GOODNESS...THIS KID CLIMBS LIKE A BILLY GOAT) bouncing and making whatever sound he makes. Can't type out AAHHHAJJAHDHAJAJAAAAEEKEKAJAKEEK very well but I suppose it's worth the shot.
We're doing ok. We have felt and heard and seen God speak and we're leaning on Him pretty heavily. And our families and friends. To all of you who've brought us food or toys or money or laughter. THANK YOU. We are forever grateful.
I've been feeling like God is wanting me to share my story at church and so this week I'm taking that opportunity. If any of you want to come hang out and worship and hear a bit about what God has done in me and my family's life I'd like to invite you to come spend some time with us. True Light Church. Starts at 5:00ish on Sunday evening and we meet at the Silverton Friends Church (229 Eureka Ave, Silverton, OR 97381). Would love to see all of you and would appreciate your prayers as for me as it's a little unnerving.
